Jerry-Rigging Your Way to a Better Digitization Workflow
While digitization is a staple activity in many cultural heritage institutions, wrangling the resultant files and workflow issues is challenging at the best of times. Focusing on imaging while covering broadly applicable concepts, this session investigates tools and techniques to make the computer do more of the work for you.

Taking Advantage of Your Friends (of the Library) or How to Extend Library Hours Without a Budget
Students at Southern Utah University (SUU) continually request additional library hours. They’ve been especially eager for the library to be open more during the end of the semester, yet, with limited staffing & shrinking budgets, this had not been possible. In 2016, the SUU Library’s Friends of the Library group became aware of these requests and offered to provide staffing beyond the library’s typical closing times. Our talk will highlight how this unique partnership has benefited our campus.
