Intellectual freedom, the rights protected by the first amendment, is a core tenet of democracy and librarianship. Yet in today’s political climate, how individuals or groups exercise first amendment rights has become a charged issue. Facilitated discussion groups will explore challenging case studies to determine if and how intellectual freedom and social justice exist together in modern libraries.
