Students at Southern Utah University (SUU) continually request additional library hours. They’ve been especially eager for the library to be open more during the end of the semester, yet, with limited staffing & shrinking budgets, this had not been possible. In 2016, the SUU Library’s Friends of the Library group became aware of these requests and offered to provide staffing beyond the library’s typical closing times. Our talk will highlight how this unique partnership has benefited our campus.

I'm very interested in Book arts, History of the Book, and rare books. I was a cataloger in public and academic library settings for 25+ years. I enjoy food & cooking, travel, playing cards, biking, hiking, and camping (not necessarily in that order).
